According to Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn, Payton Gendron of Conklin, New York, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Saturday. Wyatt-Coto is also suspected of being involved in the investigation.

Flynn revealed during the news conference that the suspect had used an assault weapon. The gunman shot four people outside the grocery store, three of whom died, according to Flynn's news release.
