"Journey" Former Lead Singer Steve Perry Is Alive

Steve Perry is still alive regardless of various baseless death rumors on the web. The legendary singer released his first Christmas album, "The Season' on the 5th of November 2021.

The death hoax is believed to have been prompted by his hiatus from the music industry. He suffered a hip injury while hiking in Hawaii, which led him unable to perform on his Trial By Fire tour back in 1996.

Later, the singer was reportedly diagnosed with a degenerative bone condition requiring a hip replacement. Perry was then reluctant to rush into the surgery for the diagnosed condition.

The remaining members of the band waited nearly 17 months until 1998 after his injury before deciding on the band's future as they realized the window of opportunity was closing, and they grew impatient too.

Journey members Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain presented an ultimatum; If Perry didn't undergo hip replacement surgery so the tour could proceed upon his recovery, Journey would hire a replacement singer.

Upset at the bandmates and hesitant to undergo hip replacement surgery, Steve announced that he was permanently leaving the band. Steve Augeri of Tall Stories took over his position.
