Over a sexual advance to a member of the party's staff, an independent panel has recommended that an SNP MP Patrick Grady be suspended from Parliament for two days.

42-year-old Patrick Grady, whose real name is Patrick John Grady, is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who was born on February 5, 1980. He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Glasgow North in the 2015 UK general election.

Mr Grady, MP for Glasgow North, is also set to be suspended by his party, according to the latest news and updates.

Mr Grady told the Commons, "I am profoundly sorry for my behavior and I deeply regret my acts and their repercussions," and promised that "such behavior on my behalf will never happen again."

SNP MP Patrick Grady Suspended For Sexual Misconduct

At a social occasion in a pub in 2016, Patrick Grady was found to have touched and stroked the neck, hair, and back of a coworker 17 years his junior.

In the House of Commons, the former SNP chief whip confirmed his actions and apologized "without reservation." The MP for Glasgow North, Mr Grady, is also set to be suspended by his party.

Mr Grady told the Commons, "I am profoundly sorry for my behavior and I deeply regret my acts and their repercussions," and promised that "such behavior on my behalf will never happen again."

He also stated that since the incident, he has taken "bespoke and generic training" to alter his behavior.

Furthermore, Mr Grady resigned as SNP chief whip last year following allegations of inappropriate behavior.

Nicola Sturgeon, the party's leader, claimed she was previously aware of "a concern," but not of any "formal complaint."

SNP MP Patrick Grady Charges: Where Is He Now?

Grady was suspended from the Commons for two days in June 2022 after a report that he had made "an inappropriate sexual advance" by stroking a junior member of staff's hair, neck, and back.

In the same month, the Independent Expert Panel issued a report recommending that Grady be removed from the House of Commons.

According to the Independent Expert Panel, which recommends punishments for MP Patrick Grady's bullying, harassment, or sexual misconduct.

It said Mr Grady had expressed "sincere regret" and made "efforts to correct his behavior," but that he should be "grounded for two sitting days, make a public apology in the House of Commons, and a private apology to the complainant."

The panel was reacting to a complaint by Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Kathryn Stone, who discovered that Mr. Grady stayed at an SNP work social gathering after his colleagues MP had gone on October 20, 2016.

He made an "unwanted sexual advance to the complainant that comprised the rubbing and stroking of the complainant's neck, hair, and back" while under the influence of alcohol, she claimed.
