He was diagnosed with terminal-stage liver cancer in 2012 and was battling against the disease for over two years before succumbing to death in 2014. However, the man had decided to keep his diagnosis a secret from the outer public and media.

His health situation became familiar to the outsiders only at the time of his death when his family members announced his demise. Mark passed away peacefully during his sleep, reports the Independent.

The Philippine Star confirmed that Cherie Gil indeed died due to cancer.

Speaking about the actress's death cause, the news portal confirmed it to be cancer, based on the information provided by a separate source and a friend of the outlet, as they claim. It is one of the biggest media portals in the country, and thus, the information seems pretty reliable.

Cherie also fashioned her bald look for the 30th anniversary of Mega Magazine, as shared by Rappler on Twitter. Since she was bald, the fact that the actress was struggling against cancer seems much more objective.

Nonetheless, her talent manager didn't mention any specific cause of death while circulating the notice of her demise. So, there is a hint of doubt in the official confirmation of the situation.
